How Much Will It Cost?
2012-13 prices for rooms in East and West House will be £98.00 per week. Rooms in Bourne Chambers will be £98.00 per week, with self-contained flatlets (which include kitchen facilities) ranging from £100.00 - £120.00 per week. All rents are inclusive of all bills.
In addition to the rent, a deposit (equivalent to 4 weeks rent) is payable to reserve a place in halls. This is refunded at the end of the tenancy, minus any deductions for damages or fines.
The residence agreement, 2011/12, for Further Education students is from 30th August to 8th June, and for Higher Education students from 19th September to 8th June. Rent is payable termly, in advance. Rent will be collected by the University College by credit / debit card at the start of each term. There is a £25.00 administration charge for late payment of rent.
Students moving into halls are asked to sign an acceptance form confirming they have read the terms and conditions of the residence agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, any student wishing to move out before the end of the residence agreement is liable for the remainder of the rent. However, if another student (acceptable to the University College) is found, an administration charge of £100.00 will be made by the outgoing student. The incoming student must sign a new acceptance form and pay the deposit and required rent before the outgoing student can be released from the terms of their agreement.
