Textile Design: Printing Techniques

10 Monday evenings, 6-9pm

Do you want to learn how to print your own fabric?

Exploring the art of hand decoration on fabric through a variety of printing and dyeing techniques, you will be encouraged to create your own images before transforming them into simplistic repeat patterns to print on fabrics. Experimenting with a variety of basic fabric printing methods such as silkscreen stencil, link / block printing and heat transfer you will have the opportunity to explore the traditional craft techniques of Shibori (tie-dye) and Batik (wax resist).

Whilst you can purchase a variety of different base fabrics from the course tutor, you may want to bring your own having assessed the suitability for the medium being explored.

There are no entry requirements, only an interest and a desire to develop your print skills.
