Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development

The Enterprise Unit team includes a Business & Entrepreneurship Advisor and a Business Fellow (Creative Industries) who can help by providing you with access to specialist advice, technology and facilities, enterprise & innovation support, training, and students or graduates to work on projects in your company.

 

Their role within the Enterprise Unit is to offer:

 

  • Support
    This is provided through our business related activities including customised professional training, part-time & short courses, professional consultancy advice, mentoring, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Professional training
    We can work with you to develop tailor-made & flexible training programmes for your staff or to provide specialist training in-house. Examples are Image Adaptation (PhotoShop), Desktop Publishing (QuarkXpress), Computer Graphics (Illustrator), Web Design (Dreamweaver) and introduction to Internet & Email and Advanced Desktop Publishing.
  • Collaboration
    We can connect you with the knowledge, skills and expertise of academic staff, training inputs, project development and evaluation.
  • Opportunities for student and graduate projects as a valuable resource for companies. The University College’s policy is to prepare students for the world of work and actively encourages collaboration between business and higher education.
  • A direct link to the resources of other higher education institutions across the South West through our involvement with HERDASW and also the National Arts Learning Network.
  • Signpost you to a network of other support and advice agencies.
  • Facilities Hire
    The University College has many specialist facilities. These facilities are used by our students but they are also available for commercial hire. Available conference and exhibition space is complemented by high-tech audio-visual equipment.
