Additional Grant
Additional Grant Support in 2011/12 - full-time, Home UK students
The University College has devised a range of support mechanisms to encourage applications from, and subsequent retention of, students from under-represented groups.
The University College has determined eligibility for Additional Grant support on the basis of the amount of maintenance grant awarded by the SLC, which is itself determined by a student’s household income. In 2011/12 it is our intention to continue to provide extra support to students from lower income backgrounds, through the provision of bursaries and assistance with other costs.
The University College’s Access Agreement 2011/12 includes information on bursaries and other financial support for full-time Home UK students. Also included is the University College’s commitment to extend outreach work and to continue to report on widening participation activity and outcomes.
The full scope of this support can be seen in the Access Agreement 2011/12.
For new entrants in 2011/12 please see the Access Agreement 2011/12, where support for those in receipt of the full maintenance grant includes:
- £600 Bursary award (paid in 2 instalments on successful completion of the year)
- Bicycle vouchers
- On-course support
- Disability support
